Joel H. Slomsky is a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He was nominated to the position by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2013. Prior to becoming a federal judge, Slomsky was a partner at the law firm of Obermayer, Rebmann, Maxwell & Hippel LLP, where he specialized in commercial litigation.
Judge Slomsky received his undergraduate degree from Drew University and his law degree from Villanova University School of Law. He has been involved in various professional organizations, including the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Federal Judicial Conference Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure.
